BOARD OF TRUSTEES
Jay Lyon, President
Jay Lyon, Board President
was appointed to the Board
of Trustees in 2003. He
is semi-retired and self-employed
as a Government/Public
Affairs Specialist. He
received a B.S. Degree
in Chemical Engineering
from the University of
Wyoming. Mr. Lyon has
been dedicated to community
service having been a
member of the Wyoming
State Board of Education,
the Wyoming Community
Foundation, Sweetwater
County Solid Waste Board,
the Sweetwater Transit
Authority Board, and the
Joint Powers Water Board.
Additionally, he has been
a member of the Southwest
Wyoming Industrial Association
for over 25 years. He
is married and has three
children.
Edward Shineberg, Vice-President
Edward Shineberg, Board Vice-President, is providing service to the Board of Trustees for the second time. Mr. Shineberg was a Board member from 1978-1987. He is a retired independent businessman having owned and managed the Rock Springs Laundry for over 35 years and the B & B Pawnshop for 22 years. He achieved an Associates Degree from Southwestern University of Georgetown, TX, and complete an additional two years at UCLA. He majored in History, English, and Geography. Along with his contributions to the hospital, he is a 50-year member of the Rock Springs Rotary Club. And, he is a past Exalted Rules of the B.P.O.E. Elks 624 and currently, serves as its Office Manager. He is married and had four children; two boys and two girls. The two boys are deceased.
Matt Hamblin, Treasurer
Matt Hamblin, Treasurer
of the Board of
Trustees has served
for four years.
He is a mechanic
at FMC Corporation.
He has attended
Western Wyoming
Community College
for maintenance
courses and welding.
He is married to
Julie and has two
sons, Garth and
Ty. He has been
a volunteer for
youth sports and
enjoys camping,
fishing, his grandchildren
and family. When
asked about his
leadership philosophy,
Mr. Hamblin says
that he listens
to people who do
the work and utilize
the hospital's
facilities. He
says, “Treat
everyone as you
expect to be treated
in return. Listen
to feedback from
all involved, not
just those at the
top.”
Louise Ryckman, Secretary
Louise Ryckman , Board
Secretary, is a former
State Representative
from Sweetwater County
and presently teaches
third grade in Sweetwater
County School District
#1. She received a B.A.
Degree from the University
of Illinois and a Masters
of Education from Lesley
University . Along with
her service to the Wyoming
House of Representatives,
Ms. Ryckman has been
involved in many community
activities including
service to the Immaculate
Conception Catholic Church.
She has served on the
Sweetwater County School
District #2 Board of
Trustees and on the Sweetwater
County Museum Board.
She is a member of the
Green River Kiwanis.
With her husband, Jere,
she has three children
and one grandchild.
Larry Caller
Larry Caller has served
on the Board of Trustees
for over eight years
with three of the years
serving as President
of the Board. He is
an independent businessman
who received a B.S.
Degree in Mechanical
Engineering. For over
25 years, he has been
active in local politics
and is a former State
Senator and Sweetwater
County Commissioner.
He is married to Jane
and has a daughter,
Tracie, who is presently
in medical school.
Mr. Caller’s
goal for the hospital
would be to add physicians
and services that are
not presently available
including a cardiac
unit, hematologist
and 24-hour epidurals.
Wally Johnson
Wally Johnson, is the liaison from the Sweetwater County Commission. He began his service on the Board of Trustees in January of 2005. He received a B.S. degree from Utah State University and, prior to his retirement, served as a Human Resources Director for Interwest Mining Company, a Director of Maintenance for Bridger Coal Company, and a Superintendent of Industrial Engineering and Employee Relations for U.S. Steel in Lander. He is married and has a daughter and son. He enjoys hunting and fishing and being active in the community. He is a past member of the Joint Powers Water Board.
